Quote of the day...

I was used to wearing finer clothes, as I had always been dressed in classic children's clothings. And I didn't see why a (I, as) member of the Communist Party shouldn't wear Yves Saint Laurent or Kenzo.

What Is Fashion?
Dictionary.com defines fashion as:
1)The prevailing style or custom, as in dress or behavior
2)Something, such as a garment, that is in the current mode: a swimsuit that is the latest fashion.
3)The style characteristic of the social elite: a man of fashion
To some, fashion is art. To others it is almost a religion. I consider it both: Art, Religion & Lifestyle. Realistically, fashion demonstrates the characteristic of one self. Every morning I'm in my closets making decisions. Depending on the day, it can take from 15 minutes to almost 1 hour to decide what to wear. Then there's other people that take the time by doing it the night before. Now, what if I were in their shoes? By the time morning comes around, my mind is set on something else, which means I would have to start all over again. Which also mean more decisions!lol. I don't mind..
Fashion statements can be made with clothes, accessories, shoes, hair, makeup, even your cellphone. I tend to make my own fashion statements with a wow factor!lol. I crave for leggings with cute tops, and blazers with 6 inch heels that complements a purse. Then adding jewellery as the cherry on top of an ice cream sundae. It's tasteful, clean and very classy. Others like the attention by showing off too much skin or looking like a train wreck. At the end of the day, a person can be a disaster or Miss Fashion Icon, but a fashion statement never fails. I view it as the most memorial moments are the first impression of a person. To me, Lady Gaga is a walking/singing state of the fashion art masterpiece. With her voice and outrageous outfits, she's on top of the world! Then again, her outfits can be a little too much, but we're still here talking about her. We will talk today, tomorrow and for always.
There's no pressure or stress, just thoughts, determination and achieving your goal. Let's put it this way, if it weren't for Lady Gaga's bizarre outfits, she wouldn't be where is she now. She'd be another pop princess just like the rest of them.
2010 Fall Men's Must Haves
It'll be a very eventful season of fall! From militery to casanova to brooches and shoes, men are ready for fashion! Suits and more suits! Are they a trend? I always thought they were all year round? This season men are rocking in 3 piece suits with bow ties, showing off their street slick side with attitude. Sack suits are back again, but what is it? A sack suit is a largely unshaped cut of suit. It's not literally like a sack, it features the same natural shoulders of the drape cut, but is devoid of any front darting. Velvet sports jackets and suits are another fall essential, and even men's brooches too.

My Favorite Macaron Recipe
Flavors include mint, pistachio, coffee, lemon, raspberry, hazelnut, coconut, lavendar caramel, german chocolate and raspberry mousse.
For chocolate raspberry ganache
For macaroons
- 6 oz sliced blanched almonds
- 1 1/2 cups confectioners sugar
- 3 large egg whites
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- Red or pink food coloring
For chocolate raspberry ganache
- 3 oz fine-quality bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened
- 1/16 teaspoon raspberry extract
Make macaroons:
Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
Pulse almonds with 1/2 cup confectioners sugar in a food processor until very finely ground, 2 to 3 minutes, then transfer to a bowl. Sift in remaining cup confectioners sugar, stirring to combine.
Beat egg whites with salt in another bowl with an electric mixer at medium speed until they just hold soft peaks. Add granulated sugar, a little at a time, beating, then increase speed to high and continue to beat until whites just hold stiff, glossy peaks. Add drops of food coloring to reach desired shade and mix at low speed until evenly combined. Stir almond mixture into meringue with a rubber spatula until completely incorporated.
Spoon batter into bag, pressing out excess air, and snip off 1 corner of plastic bag to create a 1/4-inch opening. Twist bag firmly just above batter, then pipe peaked mounds of batter (the size of a chocolate kiss) onto lined sheets about 1 1/2 inches apart. Let cookies stand, uncovered, at room temperature until tops are no longer sticky and a light crust forms, 20 to 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, put oven racks in upper and lower thirds of oven and preheat oven to 300°F.
Bake cookies, switching position of sheets halfway through baking, until crisp and edges are just slightly darker, 20 to 25 minutes. Cool completely on sheets on racks, about 30 minutes.
Make ganache while macaroons bake:
Melt chocolate with cream in a metal bowl set over a pan of barely simmering water or in top of a double boiler, stirring until smooth. Remove bowl from heat, then add butter and raspberry extract, stirring until butter is melted. Let stand at room temperature until cooled completely and slightly thickened.

Assemble cookies:
Carefully peel cookies from parchment. Sandwich a thin layer of ganache (about 1/2 teaspoon) between flat sides of cookies.
