Styling of Moi!
This is me all dolled up! Supporting leather leggings, a Parker beaded vest, a shear buttoned white shirt and of course 6 inch heels. I always believed that anything fitted at the bottom should always be loose at the top and vice versa. I consider this outfit edgy yet glamorous. Anything beaded is my best friend.
Photo Stylist Class
Today was one of the biggest days in the Fashion Arts Program. In Photo Styling in Kim's class, we were suppose to create a colour story board and incorporate our imagination into a magazine photo shoot. I was in charge of make up as well as wardrobe. We wanted to portray a pastel carnival theme with cotton candy and balloons. A lot of thanks to Michie (model) for making our shoot absolutely amazing!
Red Velvet Cupcakes!
I know this is not part of Mendocino's requirements but it is still considered styling..STYLING FOR CUPCAKES that is. Such an easy recipe.
Red Velvet Cupcakes:
4 Tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
2 1/2 Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
3 Tablespoons red food coloring
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 cup plus 2 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 baking powder*
1 1/2 teaspoons distilled white vinegar
In the bowl of a stand mixer fit with a paddle attachment, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about three minutes. Turn mixer to high and add the egg. Scrape down the bowl and beat until well incorporated.
In a separate bowl mix together cocoa, vanilla and red food coloring to make a thick paste. Add to the batter, mixing thoroughly until completely combined. You may need to stop the mixer to scrape the bottom of the bowl, making sure that all the batter gets color.
Turn mixer to low and slowly add half of the buttermilk. Add half of the flour and mix until combined. Scrape the bowl and repeat the process with the remaining milk and flour. Beat on high until smooth.
Turn mixer to low and add baking soda and white vinegar. Turn to high and beat a few more minutes.
Spoon batter into a paper lined cupcake baking pan and bake at 325 F for 20-25 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the center cupcake comes out clean.
Let rest in the pan for 10 minutes, then place them of a cooling rack to cool completely before frosting.

Mendocino's Window Display
As a stylist at Mendocino, one of my tasks were to dress and style the mannequin window display. I incorporated soft cream floral and lacy pieces to set a refresh look for spring. The third picture displays a cream knitted sweater which is one of our popular pieces for this season.
Mendocino's Colour Story
Mendocino's Spring/Summer 2012, I volunteered to create a story board for "Flower Power" as one of our season's trends. I collected floral, lacey and pastel magazine clippings to portray. I also incorporated pearls, butterflies and diamonds to give the "feminine" look.

Styling Profiling Little Sista!
I would say 95 percent of the time my little sister dares me to dress her up on date night. Keep in mind, her style is beyond different than mine. She is more conservative whereas my style kind of "out there" if you know what I mean. For example, Ill wear leather leggings with a hot pink top and blazer.. Her style is more jeans and a black blouse top. Totally different! At the end of the day, I'm glad that she can trust and call her my beautiful sister :)
This is her outfit on date night!
1) Off the shoulder silver shirt purchased at Zara
2) Black leather wrap belt purchased at Mendocino
3) Pleather leggings by Aritiza.
